The IV Conference and Assembly of the Inter-American Network of Cadastre and Property Registry was held in Bogotá, Colombia from December 3 to 5, 2018, together with the Agustín Codazzi Geographical Institute and the Superintendence of Notaries and Registry of Colombia, and the organization of the World Bank and the OAS. The meeting also had the support of the Swiss Embassy in Colombia. The IV Conference brought together participants from 22 countries, including the international experiences of Spain and the Netherlands. The first day of the agenda included an analysis about the advances and disadvantages of land administration in Colombia, followed by a day of Inter-American conference where 4 topics were mainly addressed at a regional level, and that were of interest to the National cadastre and property registration authorities of the Americas: Governance of Indigenous Lands; contracting the private sector in cadastre and registration; resolution of cadastral and registry conflicts; and emerging technologies in cadastre and registration . The IV inter-American conference closed with the Annual Assembly of the Network, where the cadastre and registration authorities of the countries re-elected Uruguay as the President Country; elected their 2019 Executive Committee; and made decisions about the cadastre and registry work agenda for the region in 2019.
